Aquatic Care Programs is a family owned practice that was founded in 1996 in Humble to promote Aquatic Physical Therapy by educating physicians and patients about the healing benefits of the aqueous environment for patient rehabilitation and recovery. In 2005 Aquatic Care Programs opened their second facility in Houston, not far from Hobby Airport. Aquatic Care Programs is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of each of their patients. Most of our treating staff have been with Aquatic Care Programs between 5-15 years.

Meet The Team

Humble Staff

Alison Nicol, PT

Director

Alison graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia and now has over 29 years experience in the physical therapy field. She came to Aquatic Care in 2001 and specializes in aquatic rehabilitation. Alison is currently working on her CAPTCC (Certification in Aquatic PT). In her free time, Alison enjoys cooking, traveling, and exercising.

Eric Hanson, BS, MSPT

Co-director

Eric graduated from University of Texas at Austin in Finance and was an oil gas accountant for 9 years. He changed careers and went to graduate school at UTHSC SA. He graduated in 2002 and has been working in outpatient orthopaedic. Eric has 14 years of Aquatic therapy experience and specializes in outpatient orthopaedic physical therapy.He is currently working on his Mckinzie certification. In his free time he likes to do oil painting. He is formerly a state ranked tennis player. He also enjoys basketball and fitness training.

Ankit Bhatia, PT,  MS, DPT, ACSM-HFS

Senior Physical Therapist

Ankit earned a Master’s of Science in Exercise & Sports Science from Texas Tech University, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. He recently completed his 6 month certification in Business from Harvard Business School, and helps out with social media at ACP. Ankit has over 7 years of physical therapy experience and specializes in Aquatic and Manual therapy treatment of orthopedic & neurological conditions, sports medicine, disorders of the spine and post-op rehabilitation. Ankit has deep knowledge of ‘complex medical conditions.He believes in customizing the Rehab Protocols according to the needs and goals of his patients. In his free time he likes to travel and read.

Ken Trzecki, PT

Senior Physical Therapist

Ken graduated from State University of New York in Buffalo in 1973, majoring in Physical Therapy. He has worked as a Director at a major teaching hospital and as an instructor in orthopedic and manual therapy at the university level. His years of experience and having the heart of a teacher are blessing for our patients. In his free time Ken loves to coach softball and likes to travel.

Shelby Caves, PTA, BS

Senior Physical Therapist Assistant

Shelby did her Bachelor’s of exercise and sports science from Texas State University.Shelby started with Aquatic Care in 2013 after graduating from Houston Community College, where she focused on physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Shelby specializes in Aquatic physical therapy and she likes to work with orthopaedics and paediatric patients. In her free time she likes getting outdoors, hiking, camping and kayaking. She has been helping patients reach their maximum potential since 2013 at Aquatic Care Programs. Shelby has taken several CEU’S in Advanced aquatic courses, Pediatric Aquatic courses and Kinesio-tape (KT1+KT2)

Anna Key, PTA, BS

Senior Physical Therapist Assistant

Hailing from the Slovak Republic, Anna graduated from University of Arts and Science of Oklahoma majoring in PE. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated from the PTA program. She started with Aquatic Care in 2007 and specializes in paediatrics, orthopedic rehab and sports injuries. She has over 10 years of experience in pediatrics home health and Aquatic rehabilitation. She has KT1,KT2 and KT3 certification for Kinesio-taping. Anna is also Halliwick and Aquassage certified Aquatic therapist.

Martine Sandidge, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Martine graduated from Houston Community College in 2002. She has over 10 plus years of Outpatient orthopedic experience. She has previously worked in Inpatient Rehab, Aquatic facilities and foot and Ankle rehab.

When not working Martine likes to watch her kids play Baseball and spend time with friends and Family.

Servando Andrade, MTI, MT

Senior Massage Therapist/Rehab Technician

Servando began working in the physical therapy field in 2003, and found his way to Aquatic Care in 2011. Servando has LMI and LMT certification.

Joy Frantz, MT

Senior Massage Therapist/Rehab Technician

Joy has been with Aquatic care programs for 15 years. She is a LMT with extensive training in Lymphatic drainage and pregnancy massage. She is a member of AMTA(American Massage Therapy Association). She has previously worked at a chiropractic clinic. When Joy is not working she likes to play with her grandson and granddaughter.She also likes to travel with her friends and family. Joy volunteers for Hearts for Military(Organization send care packages to servicemen and women who are currently deployed). She has Aquassage and water safety certifications.

Maya Muldrew, MT

Massage Therapist/Administrative Assistant

Maya is a Houston native. She started working at Aquatic Care in 2015. Maya is an actress and also enjoys yoga, cycling, and video gaming. She is a LMT and is a certified yoga instructor.

Erich Ortega, BS

Erich graduated from the University of Houston. Erich joined Aquatic Care in 2018 and wants to pursue his career as an athletic trainer. He is actively involved volunteering with Paralympics and attending U of H alumni events. He also enjoys Game of Thrones, working out, and getting to know new people.

Lisa Battles

Director

Lisa graduated from Texas A&M in 1987, and then from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1995. She came to Aquatic Care in 2006 and brings over 24 years of orthopedic, workman’s comp injuries, FCE, work hardening, splint fabrication and aquatic experience. Lisa currently lives in southeast Houston with her husband and two daughters, and thoroughly enjoys giving back to the community. In her free time she likes to travel, read, play bunco, do art and crafts and is active in her local church. She loves to laugh and create a happy environment for people around her.

Alan Folz, PTA

Senior Physical Therapist Assistant

Alan worked as a successful professional in technology field but his passion lies in  helping people achieve their maximum physical potential. He went to school at Houston Community College and earned his PTA degree. Alan specializes in treating orthopaedic conditions of shoulder, knee, elbow etc. Alan is a student of exercise and likes to be active. His favorite activities include biking, hiking and going to the gym. He has taken several continuing education courses in shoulder complex and knee. Alan has been with Aquatic care since 2013 and has over 6 years of Aquatic Physical  therapy experience.

Elizabeth Moeller, PTA, BS

Senior Physical Therapist Assistant

Elizabeth “Liz” graduated from University of Houston Clear Lake with Bachelor’s in Fitness and Human performance. She continued her education and got her associate degree in  Physical Therapy Assistant from San Jacinto South. She likes to work with different patient diagnoses. She is an expert in Kinesiotaping. In her free time she likes to crochet, sew and do other crafty things. She also enjoys to playing with her dog and watching Disney movies. Liz has been helping patients reach their potential since 2011. She has various certifications including Halliwick and Water Specific Therapy.

Chris Smith, BS

Marketing Manager

Chris has a degree in Medical Technology from Ohio State University. She has been spreading word about the benefits of water therapy to patients and doctors all throughout Houston for the last 18 years. In her free time she likes watching sports and going to live sporting events. Chris has been associated with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for a long time. She loves outdoors and being active.
